Nicosia Development Agency (ANEL) organized the 2nd and final part of the workshop on Electric Mobility, titled “Local situation analysis”. The workshop took place in Cyprus on 27-29 September 2022 and it was organised in the framework of implementation of the EU H2020 NEEMO project (Networking for Excellence in Electric Mobility Operations).
The workshop was attended by experts from the organizations that constitute – together with ANEL – the partnership of the project, namely:
- University of Malta “Malta College of Arts, Science and Technology (MCAST), Energy Research Group (MCAST Energy)”,
- Austrian Institute of Technology (AIT)
- French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission (CEA)
As part of the workshop, on Wednesday, September 28, 2022, a study visit was conducted at the headquarters of the Electricity Authority of Cyprus (EAC). The purpose of the visit was the presentation of the e-charge service. During the visit, the Directorate of Non-Regulated Activities of the EAC presented to the visitors the structure and operation of the e-charge system, as well as the technical characteristics of the infrastructure and the electronic management system of the network of electric car charging stations. Visitors also had the opportunity to watch a live on-site electric car charging demonstration at the network’s charging station located outside the main entrance of the EAC offices.
Lastly, on Thursday, September 29, 2022, a meeting was held at the headquarters of the Department of Road Transport, of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works. During the meeting, officials of the Department presented to the visitors the policy and the existing financing schemes of the Ministry in the field of electric mobility.
