A three-day exchange program was hosted by the Nicosia Development Agency (ANEL) in Cyprus, between the 27th and 29th of September, primarily for the MCAST Energy Members.
The aim of the program was to acclimatise the members of the MCAST Energy research group with the policies and strategies for future net-zero emissions by 2050. MCAST, together with ANEL visited a number of relevant stakeholders/ research groups/ RTOs.
More specifically:
Dr Venizelos Efthymiou presented PANTERA project (Horizon 2020, EU Funding & Framework Programme for Research & Innovation) and the EIRIE platform.
Dr Christina Papademetriou presented the General Policy Framework for the promotion of the use of Electric Vehicles in Cyprus.
Dr Despina Yiakoumi, Dr Constantinos Taliotis and Dr Marios Kourmellos from The Cyprus Institute met the team of MCAST – Malta College of Arts, Science & Technology and Nicosia Development Agency and presented “Energy system modelling to support lomg-term planning of national authorities in Cyprus”.

The team of the Network Business Unit of Electricity Authority of Cyprus met the team of MCAST – Malta College of Arts, Science & Technology and Nicosia Development Agency. Mr Marios Pappoutis, Network Engineer of EAC, presented first, “The structure & competences of EAC” and ” The implementation of electric vehicles charging infrastructure”
The team of Cyprus Energy Agency welcomed at their premises the team of MCAST – Malta College of Arts, Science & Technology & Nicosia Development Agency – ANEL and presented their initiative in collaboration with the Cyprus Unibersity of Technology ” Yeitonia+ “
